A lovely day to you today,
Shall we go on to the conclusion of our series today?
Divine Encounter Part 2
Isaiah 6:1 – 8.
5. Discouragement: Many fail because
of little issues that can be removed if taken to God in Prayers.
“But he himself went a day's journey into the
wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for
himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my
life; for I am not better than my fathers.” 1Kings19:4.
6. Contention:
God does not want
you to be angry but to learn to forgive and be able to enter into His divine plan.
“And when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her
son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the seed royal” 2Kings.11:1. Gen.11:1
– 8;
“And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of
a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
17. And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I
have no room where to bestow my fruits?” Lk.12:16 – 17.
7. Dwelling on past glory:
God does not want
any of us to dwell on past glory but to walk in His new creation.
“And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And
he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before,
and shake myself. And he wist not that the LORD was departed from him. Judges16
– 20.
8. Lack of vision:
He wants us to think,
plan and have a big vision of the things He has in store for us.
“Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he
that keepeth the law, happy is he” Prov.29:18.
9. Unbelieve:
God does not
condone our unbelieve in His work and plans.
“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for
he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of
them that diligently seek him” Hebrews 12:6.
“And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in
God. 24. Therefore I say unto you, What
things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye
shall have them” Mark 11:22, 24.
How can we receive divine encounter:
1. You must die:
You must be
willing to die to self before you can have divine encounter from God.
2. Look up (high):
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the
earth. Colo 3:2.
Looking unto Jesus, the author and the finisher of our
faith… Hebrews 12:2.
3. Be filled with His glory (Purity / word)
This book of the law shall not…. Joshua 1:8.
“Study to show thyself approved unto God….2Tim. 2:15.
Be ye holy for I am holy…1Pet. 1.
4. Listen: Always be ready to hear:
“I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower,
and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I
am reproved. 2. And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make
it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. Habakkuk 2:1 – 2;
God is always
watching to instruct you on your next level in life but you must be willing to
watch or listen for his instruction.
You cannot hear
from God if you are in the natural or have a pre-determined, planned method of
hearing from Him because He can use anything, speak through anything and
anybody to you.
5. Reflect/Examine:
Check yourself.
God wants you to know your spiritual level at every point in time so as to
access His divine encounter in your life.
Examine yourself, whether ye be in the faith, no ye not
your own self. 2Cor.13:5.
6. Prayer:
Matthew 26:41.
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is
willing, but the flesh is weak.
Lk 18:1. And he
spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not
to faint;
1Thess. 5:17. Pray
without ceasing.
Areas we need divine encounter:
1. Spiritual:
“For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have
need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of
God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. 13. For every one that useth milk is
unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. 14. But strong meat belongeth to them that
are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to
discern both good and evil” Heb.5:12 – 14.
“And the LORD God
called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?” Gen.3:9.
2. Physical:
“The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy
storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless
thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee” Deut.28:8.
“I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy
testimonies are my meditation” Ps.119:99.
Finally, God is seeking a
man that He will use for this generation but before He can do that now we need
to reflect and go back to Him in the light of His laid down rules before He
starts to raise stones to stand in our gap.
