DIVINE ENCOUNTER PART 1

You are welcome again today,

Hope you are learning from  me here?

Today, I want us to start another series captioned, "Divine Encounter."

Shall we learn together?

Divine Encounter Part 1
Isaiah 6:1 – 8.

God is a God of plans and purposes. Divine encounter is God’s way of changing man’s plans and making him see how He (God) can make the best of the man and his mission on earth.

Many times we fail to understand the plan and purpose of God but in the midst of all these, God has designed that His plans must come to pass in our lives and to do that He has to stop us from our plans and making a failure of our lives out here.

 “In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the LORD sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. 2. Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.  3. And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. 4. And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.  5. Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.  6. Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:  7. And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.  8. Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.” Isaiah 6:1 – 8.

“And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,  2. And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.  3. And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:  4. And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?  5. And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.  6. And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.  7. And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.  8. And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus.” Acts 9: 1 – 8.

What is divine encounter?
Heavenly, celestial, godly bumping into, running into, come across, stumble upon by God on man. To change the activities of man and redirect him into His planned and orchestrated purpose.

Why does God bring divine encounter our way
Divine encounter is always about God. Whenever God needs someone to do His work, He search for a man, a nation (Pharaoh, David, Paul, Ezra) (Israel), a people (Children of Israel), and so on and so forth. He wants us to fulfill His purpose out here on earth. 1Peter 2:9. But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;

Problems to receiving divine encounter from God
1. Disobedience:
God wants to make of you a great person but your obedience will determine it.

“And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. 23. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.” 1Sam. 15:22 - 23.

2. Luke-warmness:
“So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth” Rev.3:16.

3. Fear:
God has not given you fear: (“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind” 2Tmothy1:7.) He wants you to have perfect love in all areas of your life because perfect casts out fear. 1John

Why is light given to a man whose way is hid, and whom God hath hedged in? Job.3:25.

What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. Ps.56:3.

4. Secret sins:
Sin is a reproach to anyone but God is a faithful God who when He wants to use a person will first of all remove it Himself.

He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.Prov.28:13;

For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither anything hid, that shall not be known and come abroad. Lk.8:17.
